The Zone Diet supposedly written by Barry Sears is simply a retooling of the typical diet of 20% protein, 20% fat and 60% carbs where you cut the carbs in half. By doing so, this temporarily eliminates half of what people are doing wrong: Eating too many carbs. It works temporarily for those who started on low fat diets but fails within weeks. You can only get so far after you Enter the Zone because none of the other necessary changes you should have made were facilitated. People love to say I am just bashing Barry Sears. I say you shouldn't take things so personal. I know things you do not. A close friend of mine named Rick Hughes is who ghost wrote the ZoneFactor. So maybe I really do know what I am talking about. Besides that, Barry Sears has a double chin. Do you want a double chin? The Zone Diet & 40-30-30 Nutrition programs, as you know them to be and how you calculate your calories, is NOT the correct Zone Factor for looking your best. Like it or not. Another thing, women may or may not fair well on the Zone diet, it's hit or miss (you probably already know that) and worse, men; your Zone is no where near 40% carbs in MOST cases. If programs like "40-30-30 Nutrition" AKA "The Zone Diet" worked so well, I ask again, Why does Dr Barry Sears who claims he wrote it have a double chin? That's because he fails to provide the correct and proper macronutrient levels to you. If you are currently on the Zone Diet or any other 40-30-30 Nutrition plan, you will Don Lemmon's KNOW HOW because at the end of an average day, your calories will naturally fall in the true and correct ratios for your individual body weight. Despite what 40-30-30 nutrition advocates or Barry Sears wants you to believe, there is a different 'zone' for every weight class and I provide it to you. If you buy the meal replacements associated with these programs such as Zone bars, Ironman bars and even Balance bars, they all contain bleached sugar, genetically modified corn syrups and starches plus a fair share of hydrogenated lard. How is that possibly good for you? Research those ingredients. They are in fact, deadly. As for the ZonePerfect Omega 3 fish oils capsules, did you ever stop to think that only spoiled and rancid fish smells like fish? If you ordered sushi and it came to you smelling like fish, would you put it in your mouth?
