Have you ever wondered why people on low fat diets or friends who eat nothing but nonfat foods end up with low testosterone levels or cysts on their ovaries? Not only is removing fat from the diet bad because some fat sources are important, but the food you replaced the fat in is bad for you as well. If low fat dieting techniques and/or protein powder meal replacement based programs such as Scott Connelly's Met-rx and Bill Phillips Body for Life worked so well, why do they take so long to show results? Because the body is starving for the real nourishment it needs to speed the metabolism.
And how come no one you or I know ever looked like the people in the ads supposedly following those routines? This is funny, I had one of Bill Phillips spokes models on my radio show back in 2001 and she made it clear that while working with EAS she was privy to the truth about their contests. She said the before and after pictures are often doctored and she left over moral and integrity issues.
Another well known spokes model told me she can't even touch Met-rx products without breaking out in hives despite being in their ads and cashing their pay check each month. She is allergic to the artificial sweeteners, modified corn starch and hydrogenated oils in all their mixes and snack bars. She also said her husband's hormone levels plummeted while using Met-rx products and that E.A.S. used the same recipes.
Scott Connelly, the creator of Met-rx, once claimed his product rebuilt dying tissue but they aren't doing so well at living up to the hype based upon his current health conditions. What is the truth? If you want to keep your 'Body for Life' you will avoid all flavored protein drinks, meal replacements and anything else with chemical sweeteners and lard. I bet you will regain control of your appearance by doing this and nothing else.
While on Don Lemmon's KNOW HOW, if you previously followed a 'low fat' diet or ate only 'nonfat' or 'fat free' foods, begin by dropping the meal replacements, eating real food and adding a good essential fatty acid blend to your diet (just one tablespoon per 100 pounds you weigh is sufficient), and then you can still eat low fat but will finally begin to show progress.
